A native of South Africa, Arthur Brown holds multiple degrees in law, theology, public policy and education. He is currently a
PhD student in higher education studies at the University of Minnesota.
- Central/South America---Jesus and Colleen Beebe Purisaca
A native of Peru where he practiced law and taught history and civics to pre-university students, Jesus is an associate educator with
Minneapolis Public Schools and is a student at Luther Seminary. His wife Colleen, a lawyer by training, directs an international Christian human rights
organization, Peace and Hope International (Paz y Esperanza).
- North America---Dr. Bob Osburn
Building on past presentations about American culture to international students, Dr. Osburn will lead a
discussion on how a Christian perspective sheds light on primary distinctives and trends in American society.

Enrolled in a PhD program in science education at the University of Minnesota, John is an earth sciences instructor at Century
College. John believes that all of science is a study of the Earth and the Cosmos, God’s Book of Nature.

A professor emeritus in the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics at the University of Minnesota where he conducted research on
crop management around the world, Lee has recently taught in Bethlehem College. He helps students develop a science-based, biblically honoring stewardship ethic
(worldview) which will inform their personal lifestyles as they face questions about serious local, national and global environmental problems.

Lori is a veteran physical education teacher and coach who enjoys serving future teachers, equipping them to be missional and
connecting them with Christian educators who live out their calling to be salt and light in our culture.

Science, Chris brings not only a wealth of teaching and research experience, but he has also consulted with many firms over the past 40 years. He has long

Speakers
Eric Metaxas (BA, Yale University) liberally spices humor with sophisticated presentations of Christian faith. Moderator of Socrates in the City (Manhattan, NYC), he is the author of many books, including Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery (2007) and Bonhoeffer (2010). He has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, First Things, and numerous national TV/radio talk programs.
Dr. Carol Lee Hamrin (PhD, University of Wisconsin) co-edited, with Stacey Bieler, the three-volume series Salt and Light: Lives of Faith that Shaped Modern China (2009-2010), as well other volumes like God and Caesar in China (2004) and Decision-Making in Deng’s China (1995). A former US State Department China specialist, she is a Research Professor at George Mason University and Senior Associate with the Global China Center.
Darrow Miller (Saturday morning) is the Co-Founder of Disciple Nations Alliance. A sought-after international speaker, he is the author of numerous books, including Discipling Nations: The Power of Truth to Transform Cultures (1998) and LifeWork: A Biblical Theology for What You Do Every Day (2009). His lecture will be based on a third book, Nurturing the Nations: Reclaiming the Dignity of Women in Building Healthy Cultures (2008).
